Wedding Information for La Doccia
|
The best times for a wedding in Tuscany is from May to mid September as well as December. We accommodate 22 to 26 people in ten bedrooms with the possibility of two additional beds being provided to certain rooms - usually for children. When doing a wedding, we reserve the whole of La Doccia for the occasion and we only accommodate wedding guests here. For a wedding greater than approximately 24, we extend accommodation to other local agriturismi or the small family hotel at nearby Tosi. Below is an outline of what we provide for a wedding day itself. This is based on a wedding party of between 24 and 10 0 people. Once we have more details, we are pleased to prepare an estimate. Obviously, our intent is to make this day as successful as possible for you, so we very much respond to suggestions, additions and changes.
1. Venue Fee: This covers the preparation of La Doccia including everything necessary to make this a perfect venue for the day. It includes the marquee, dance floor, external lighting, items we hire in for the day, external bar and buffet set up and reception area. The external lighting consists of a series of spotlights spread around the property illuminating it and various trees. The walled garden dance area has its own lighting including revolving and flashing disco lights. The swimming pool also has underwater lighting. This fee varies depending on requirements and numbers of quests. 2. Band: A Traditional Italian band performs Napoletana music at the reception and banquet. They greet your guests as they return from the ceremony, play through the reception and then again at the end of the feast. Later, one of them can stay on running a DJ set-up through the rest the evening for more contemporary music - if you have a favourite CD bring it along too, the DJ would be happy to oblige. Other types of live music available include opera singers, classical musicians, an accordionist, jazz bands and more. 3. Flowers: Flowers are needed for the tables, display, marquee and you may want a bouquet and buttonholes. We can introduce you to our english speaking florist to make up whatever floral displays you have in mind. 4. Church/Comune wedding: The wedding arrangements are organised by a our Wedding Organiser and her costs include all Comune costs, translating and sundries. A civil wedding is held in the Comune Hall which are located in Pelago in the old Castello (circa 13/14th Century) and next to it is a lovely historic church dating from the same period. There are formalities and paperwork that must be completed before the wedding which we sort out. There may be a fee for the Priest and any extras that you may require at the Comune or in the church such as flowers. These would be agree with the Wedding Organiser with whom you would have a separate payment agreement. Weddings in Florence are of course possible. Bar: We normally set up a bar in the garden or under the veranda (depending on the size of the wedding) from which drinks are dispensed. Initially the bar serves the reception and the banquet, and then acts as a bar for the rest of the evening.
6. Wedding Feast: We can present either a fully serviced sit down Cena or a more relaxed serviced Credenza. A Credenza is a type of a beautifully presented wide selection buffet. What we try to do is present a number of dishes that gives people a good Italian/Tuscan feel and, if this is served from a buffet, this allows people to not only pick and choose but also come for seconds. The feast is set up as a sit-down meal with place settings and we normally serve a Tuscan cold summer soup, which is laid at each person's place when they arrive, and then the Credenza follows with our staff constantly checking tables. To see the wedding in full: Wedding Menu - Cena di Nozze. A menu for a fully serviced sit down meal would be based on this menu. As the evening proceeds, we produce a cheese board with grapes along with coffee - this allows people to have something else later. The Cena is served under the Veranda for up to 32 people and is set up under the marquee in the walled garden for more. The cost of the above (children are no additional cost as long as they are under 5 - if there are a lot of children, we normally cost on the basis that 2 children equal 1 adult) depends on numbers and what is asked for. We are delighted to quote for anything desired in the food line. 7. Transport: We can arrange mini-vans to take guests to and from the Comune/church and also to take guests home after the party. 8. Photographer: We have a number of photographers we can call on and you can see some of their photography on our Wedding Photo gallery. Our Wedding Organiser can guide you on this as there are many options including video.
